Rita Iverson donated more than just an infant incubator to Volunteers Without Boundaries

NO ONE SAID IT WOULD BE EASY FOR RITA IVERSON

Rita first contacted me back in April of 2002 after the loss of her beloved granddaughter, Isabella.  Rita was heart sick and longed to give back to world what Isabella had given her...love, hope and a reason to wake up every morning.

Rita had just finished reading an article I had written for the March issue of  Emergency Physicians monthly  entitled After The  Attack When she felt compelled to e-mail me.  Rita desperately wanted to send supplies to Afghanistan but didn’t know how until my story started the ball rolling.

Two years and three months after our first contact Rita has blossomed into a mega humanitarian.  She’s been in touch with literally hundreds of companies as well as government officials to attain her goal to help.  Rita has jumped through numerous hoops to develop a system for collecting, collaborating and  transporting donations to Afghanistan using only her ingenuity  and refuses to accept “no” as an answer!  Not only has Rita dedicated her efforts towards helping those in Afghanistan she has contributed greatly towards assisting the needy in the Americas.

Now nothing is impossible for Rita Iverson.  She claims that it is Isabella who inspires her and makes all things possible.  Perhaps she is right because I  see only positive progress and benevolence in Rita’s work!        Mary Lightfine

Rita's granddaughter, Isabella continues to inspire her to help others.
